GP Enhanced Access

Northampton GP Enhanced Access is an extension of your usual GP practice, offering patients access to appointments during evenings and weekends. The service is not a walk-in service, and you can only book an appointment through your usual GP practice reception. You cannot book an appointment directly with Enhanced Access.

If your GP practice has booked you an appointment with Enhanced Access, here is what you need to know.

Phlebotomy Service at Enhanced Access

We have launched a brand-new Phlebotomy service available at Enhanced Access where you can have blood tests taken as long as they are requested by your GP Practice. The appointments are available to book from the Monday of each week by your practice.

Contact your GP practice to arrange this. The service is available 09:00 – 12:10 on both Saturdays and Sundays.

LIVI

LIVI is a video GP service that allows you to get a same-day video appointment, including out-of-hours on weekdays and over the weekend. If your GP practice is registered with the LIVI service, you can use the LIVI app to book an appointment up to three days in advance or join a drop-in queue to see the next available GP.

LIVI GPs are all GMC-registered NHS GPs who will be able to access your medication records and give you in-depth diagnosis based on your medical history.

You can download the LIVI app on mobiles/tablets from the App Store or Google Play. To learn more, you can visit: www.livi.co.uk

Frequently Asked Questions

You can expect a similar service and experience to when you visit the GP practice you are registered for. It is unlikely, though, that you will be seen by a member of your own practice’s team. You will be seen by a fully qualified and experienced GP, Nurse or Healthcare Professional.

With your consent, your medical record will be available to the Healthcare Professional that sees you, to ensure that they have the information they need to give you the best possible care.

Your consultation will be recorded in your medical records.

If you need to cancel, please contact your registered GP practice. If your GP practice is closed, please call 01604 263168 and leave a message on the answer phone with your name and appointment date/time. This message will only be picked up when the service is open (18:30 Monday – Friday and 9:00 Saturday/Sunday). Please inform us immediately if you think you cannot attend, so this appointment can be used for someone else.

If your GP practice is closed, and you cannot book an appointment with the Enhanced Access Service, please use the NHS 111 service to contact the Out-of-Hours service if you urgently need non-life-threatening medical help or advice.
